UNIMAC Financial is committed to investing in the latest technologies to ensure continuous improvement, enhanced productivity and efficiency and the ability to meet our clients’ service and performance standards.
We are continuously updating our equipment, having recently purchased a KBA Compacta 215
six-color, heatset, full
web-press with in-line capabilities for fast and cost-effective printing and folding.
Our focus is on the following technological areas: internal management information systems, lithographic printing technology, digital printing technology and electronic media.
Internal Management Information Systems:
UNIMAC Financial has invested heavily in internal management information systems to ensure control and management of production processes, invoicing, data gathering and the preparation of client-focused management information reports. We are continuing to invest in management information systems to capture all relevant data. This data will be made available both internally and, where appropriate, externally in a web-based environment.
Lithographic Printing Technology: Our commitment to traditional offset printing is based on the belief that advances in press technology will continue to create opportunities. Our recently installed KBA full web will soon be joined by a KBA 56" eight-color perfecting sheetfed press. We will continue to aggressively depreciate our equipment to be in a position to capitalize on emerging press technologies and greater quality production. Our facility was one of the first to image 100% of our printing plates digitally. Enhanced imaging technologies, faster make-ready, improved color consistency and environmentally conscious recycling programs are all the result of our ongoing commitment to advanced printing technologies.
Digital Printing Technologies:
Our sister company, Strategic Content Imaging, was created in 2003 to focus on the growing applications for digital print. Our mission was to build a facility that would offer high-end image quality in a large-volume print environment. SCI specializes in high-quality, short-run, one-color up to six-color digital output. On demand, variable print is produced on either Heidelberg Digimasters (3) or HP Indigos (2). As an indication of our commitment to digital technology, we were recently selected by Hewlett Packard as one of a handful of locations to beta-site test the new Indigo 5000.
Electronic Distribution:
UNIMAC remains committed to developing alternatives to traditional "print and mail" distribution. Our core business is to provide the world's largest investment banks with secure, quality conscious, distribution of time-sensitive documents. To facilitate this process, we have developed customized state-of-the-art publishing platforms that provide infrastructure allowing authoring, editing, compliance, data guardianship and multi-channel distribution. Our products utilize HTML and XML to provide users and recipients with the latest in electronic distribution capabilities.
